1948:
  • Steel Trading business commenced, in association with suppliers in UK
 
1958:
  • Machine Tools Division commenced operations
 
1960:
  • Mahindra Sintered Products Limited established - a joint venture with Bir Field (GKN Group, UK).
 
1962:
  • Mahindra Ugine Steel Company established - a joint venture with Ugine Kuhlmann, France
 
1965:
  • Manufacture of light commercial vehicles commenced.

  • Vickers Sperry of India Limited established - a joint venture with Sperry Rand Corporation, USA.
 
1970:
  • Mahindra Engineering & Chemical Products Limited commenced operations
 
1982:
  • Siro Plast formed
 
1987:
  • Acquired International Instruments Limited
 
1989:
  • Automotive Pressing Unit (now Mahindra Ugine Steel Company Limited) acquired from GKN.
 
1993:
  • Mahindra Steel Service Centre Limited established in association with Mitsubishi Corporation and Nissho Iwai Corporation of Japan.
 
2003:
  • Mahindra Engineering Services established
 
2004
  • Systech (earlier known as MSAT) established, to focus on developing components as well as offering engineering services.
 
2005:
  • Mahindra & Mahindra’s automotive component sector today announced that Amforge Industries Ltd. has received approval from the Hon'ble High Court, Mumbai for its Composite Scheme of Arrangement, inter alia, envisaging demerger of the Company's Chakan plant and its merger into Mahindra Automotive Steels Pvt Ltd. (MASPL) on 21st March 2005.

  • Acquired 51% stake in SAR Transmission Private Limited, a company engaged in manufacture of gears and transmission shafts

  • Mahindra & Mahindra entered into an agreement with Plexion Technologies, Mauritius, a group company of J. P. Morgan to acquire 88.41% stake in Plexion Technologies (India) Limited (Plexion).
 
2006:
  • Mahindra and Mahindra Limited (M&M) has acquired 98.6% shares in Stokes Group Limited, U.K. (Stokes) from its existing share holders.

  • Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. through its subsidiary has agreed to acquire 67.9% stake in Jeco Holding AG
 
2007:
  • Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. through its subsidiary Mahindra Forgings Global Limited based in Mauritius has acquired 90.47% stake in Schöneweiss & Co. GmbH., a leading company in the forgings sector in Germany.
