Our Sourcing Unit is an expert sourcing solution provider of automotive and tractor components. It forms part of US $4.5 billion Mahindra Group, market leader in multi-utility vehicles and tractors in India.
It was formed in 2004 by bringing together the expert sourcing personnel from M&M’s automotive and farm equipment sectors. Currently, it has strength of over 100 people with expertise in sourcing, negotiation, supplier quality assistance. The Sourcing Unit is also into global sourcing especially from countries like China, Taiwan and Thailand.

Products and services

The Sourcing Unit has built a strong competence in cost-effective sourcing of quality automotive and tractor components and aggregates. The team has got experts to take care of each step of the sourcing cycle from source selection, commercial negotiation till finalization of the contracts. It is also equipped to offer technical assistance to improve vendor quality and overall performance. The team’s skills are backed up by an extensive database of information about components gathered over past several years.

Overseas Business

The Sourcing Unit offers the sourcing expertise that M&M has built over the past 60 years to third party OEMs who are keen on reducing material cost through sourcing from low cost countries. The Sourcing team is well supported by M&M’s in-house transportation group to take care of logistics from supplier’s’ location to customers’ domestic/overseas manufacturing plants. The team also has got experts in packaging who ensure packaging costs are optimized. Currently SSBU is extending its sourcing expertise to International Truck & Engine Corporation, USA.
